What We Believe

We want to be a church that glorifies God through faithful worship, intentional discipleship, and proactive missions.

Our Statement of Faith is the BFM 2000.

  • Having been led, as we believe by the Holy Spirit, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully renew our covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
    (Jn 6:63; 16:7-11; 1:12; 1 Thess 2:13; Acts 2:41; 8:38; Matt 28:19; 1 Cor 12:12-13; Acts 2:42)

We promise, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. We affirm that matrimony is between a male and a female only.
    (Eph 2:21-22; Heb 10:25; Matt. 28:19-20; 1Cor 11:24-34; Rom 16:17; 2 Thess 3:6; 1 Cor 5; Acts 2:42; 2 Jn 1:9-11; Matt 10:10; Gal 6:6; Mal 3:8-10; Acts 11:29; 2 Cor 8:1-5, Lk 24:46-48; Acts 1:8)

We also promise to maintain family and personal devotions; to religiously educate our children; to love our neighbors; to seek the salvation of our family members and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our promises, and exemplary in our behavior; to walk in the spirit according to Galatians 5:22-23, to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of God.
    (Deut 6:1-12; 11:18-20; Matt 6:6; Mk 5:19; Lk 5:19; Matt 5:16; Eph 5:15, 6:4; Tit 2:12; Rom 6:4; 1 Thess 4:7; 1 Pet 1:13-25)

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the practice of our Savior to secure it without delay. (Rom 12:10, 16:17-18; Gal 6:1-2; Matt 18:15-17; Jas 5:19-20; Col 3:16; Heb 3:12-13; 1 Thess 5:11; 1 Cor 5)
