Pastors serve spiritually through ministering the word, praying for members, modeling mature Christianity, and raising up other leaders. Deacons serve practically through preserving unity, ministering mercy, and handling administrative matters.
Pastors
Pastors preach the Word, pray for the congregation, model godly living, and raise up other leaders. In the future, we hope to have a plurality of staff and non-staff pastors.
John Lee
John joined First Baptist Church of Artesia as senior pastor in 2023. He holds a Bachelor in Applied Theology from California Baptist University and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Before coming to Artesia he served in pastoral internships at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., and North Shore Baptist Church in Queens, New York.
His writing has been published by 9Marks, Desiring God, Radical, and The Gospel Coalition.
Deacons
Deacons preserve church unity, administer mercy, handle administrative matters, and free the pastor to give himself to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
